Darling Ducklings Classroom

Every day in the darling ducklings room is an amazing blend of experiences. It’s cuddling and rocking to give a bottle and sooth to sleep. It's helping to build blocks, playing pattycake and singings songs. It's teaching each child how to be social and how an older child can be gentle with our younger babies. The children progress from drinking bottles, to learning to eat puffs and cheerios, to eating solid table foods and drinking from a sippy cup.

The ages in our room are 6 weeks to 18 months. As our babies grow from one month to the next they learn so much. We enjoy watching them grow and learn. Making our babies feel loved and secure is our number one goal, because after that all they need to worry about is learning.

Playful Puppies Classroom

Teaching toddlers is a challenge for they love to test the world around them - the physical environment as well as the adults caring for them. The teachers in the Playful Puppies Room are fully present and connected with the children when they feel dependent, yet allow the children to move away and explore on their own when they are ready to be independent.
By providing appropriate learning experiences for toddlers that they will find truly enjoyable, our goal at the end of the activity is to hear the children say wholeheartedly, “Again!” Our objective is to provide learning in all six domains: physical health development, emotional development, social development, motor development, language-communication development and cognitive development.

Cute Koalas Classroom

A time of transition is the perfect phrase to describe the Cute Koalas room, as well as its curriculum. The time a child spends in the Koalas' room is the difference between starting out as a toddler and growing into a preschooler, the steps it takes to go from diapers to underwear, and laying a foundation of skills upon which they will build throughout their education.

Children in the Cute Koalas room learn through play. There are blocks and carpet toys which help them develop large muscle skills; dolls and housekeeping play to bolster social skills and relationships; puzzles, manipulatives and table toys to hone fine motor skills. Concepts such as colors, alphabet and numbers are learned through songs and word play and children become familiar with days of the week, seasons, months and holidays.

Social skills develop too, as children begin to learn the values of sharing, kindness, compassion and manners. These ideas are put into practice in the classroom by students and teachers alike, not only as social skills, but as beginning concepts of Christianity.

By the time students promote to the Perky Penguins room, they are prepared to take the next steps in their educational journey – and they’ve done it all through play and creativity.

Perky Penguins Preschool Classroom

Teaching the perky penguins is a joyful challenge, as they are embarking on making that step from baby/toddler to a little person. Their minds are like sponges and they possess the desire to absorb everything you give to them.

The Perky Penguins staff is nurturing, loving and giving to each child. We share the joys of their victories of accomplishing new things and the sorrows of the stumbling blocks when they can’t quite grasp something so close within their reach.

Our goal is to guide their young minds in their play and learning, so that they are eager and excited for each adventure in learning and experiencing something new each day.

We work on basic letter and number recognition as well as shapes and colors. We also spend a great deal of time helping them develop their social skills and learning to follow a routine.

Bridge To Kindergarten Classroom

The Bridge to Kindergarten class is a new class forming in the fall of 2010. This class is designed for children who miss the cut off date to enter Kindergarten or who maybe are not ready for Kindergarten but have completed a typical Pre-K program, like our 4s or Nursery School classes. Reading readiness, math, science and social studies as well as art and music will be taught. Options are available for 3, 4, or 5 days and can be combined with a daycare option if needed. Reading readiness will be taught using the Starfall curriculum and math will be taught using Every Day Counts Calendar Math.
